This particular picture was made in Page, Arizona USA. Colorado river takes a U turn in this spot and the Horseshoe bend overlook is above 1000 feet above the river and the river itself is 3000 feet above the sea level. Upon reaching the overlook, one is awed by the magnificence of the landscape that cannot be expressed in words or through a photograph. The overlook is at the top of a steep orange colored cliff several hundreds of feet high. Down below, an emerald green Colorado river makes a horse-shoe shaped bend before rushing towards the Grand Canyon.
The orange muddy mountain in the centre glows in the sun and photographers rush there at the sunset and sunrise hours. I was fortunate enough to be there at the right time and was sitting on the edge of 1000 feet above with no barriers and could literally see the river in the bottom. With the sand skidding under your feet, it was one of the most dangerous picture making I did. But it was all worth for this one of the most spectacular view I have ever witnessed and cannot explain the magnitude of this view in this photograph. Hope you enjoyed as much I did.
